FISA Foundation Recognized as Champion in Preventing Domestic Violence
posted April 07, 2009FISA Foundation is honored to be the recipient of the Ted Craig Humanitarian Award at the 19th Annual UPMC Health Plan Spring Clothes Out benefiting the Women’s Center & Shelter.
For the past twelve years the Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh (WC&S) has been honoring individuals and organizations with this award. “Every year we honor those who have demonstrated excellence and outstanding achievement in their profession and have displayed an unsurpassed commitment to community service,” said Rachel Lorey Allen, co-chair of the UPMC Health Plan Spring Clothes Out. “We chose FISA Foundation this year for their significant efforts to heighten awareness of domestic violence and explore collaborative strategies between the sixteen domestic violence and sexual assault agencies in southwestern Pennsylvania,” added Shirl Regan, Executive Director of WC&S.
Accepting the award on behalf of the FISA Foundation will be Kristy Trautman, FISA’s Program Officer whose leadership has been key to the success of the Foundation’s work with victim service agencies. The UPMC Health Plan Spring Clothes Out will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel beginning at 5:00 pm. Those attending the event make cash donations and donations of gently worn women’s business suits or dresses.
