| 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM | Program on Standing Firm: The Business Case to End Partner Violence Executive Women's Council of Greater Pittsburgh along with the FISA Foundation and the Women & Girls Foundation of Southwestern Pennsylvania will host a luncheon on the Standing Firm Initiative. Standing Firm was conceived by several local foundations (FISA, Women and Girls Foundation, Jewish Women's Foundation, Eden Hall and others) to engage employers in addressing the fact that when abuse is happening at home, it inevitably also affects the workplace (for both victims and abusers), and encourages employers to recognize the warning signs and respond appropriately. Standing Firm includes things like adopting a workplace violence policy that addresses intimate partner violence, training managers and supervisors to recognize signs of abuse and provide appropriate referrals, making sure HR/EAP is trained and is aware of the local victim service agencies, and then conducting some type of awareness campaign for employees. Free of Charge to EWC Members Free of Charge to Guest EWC Member Nonmembers $10 Registration & networking begins at 11:30 AM with program starting promptly at 12 Noon. Lunch will be provided. To register, contact Roberta Rollings, ewcpgh@aol.com or online at: http://www.eventbrite.com/event/796582600 |
